Advanced Text Formatting (Markdown)
MeloRep offers a special highlighting system so you can easily see specific words, lines, or sections (Chorus, Intro, etc.) during your performance on stage.
Basic Usage
You must write the text you want to format in the *tag:text* format. Simply write your text after the colon (:) and close it with an asterisk (*) again.
1. Text Styles and Size
- Bold Text:
*bold:Chorus*(or shortly*b:Chorus*) - Italic Text:
*italic:Slowly*(or shortly*i:Slowly*) - Underline:
*underline:Important*(or shortly*u:Important*) - Font Size:
*size-20:Large Text*(you can change the value 20 depending on your needs on stage)
2. Coloring
You can color the text itself or its background. Valid color codes are: red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, pink, white, black, gray, cyan, teal.
- Text Color: Write the name of the color in English. Example:
*red:Red Text* - Background Color: Add bg- before the color name. Example:
*bg-yellow:Text with Yellow Background*
3. Combining Properties (+)
If you want to apply multiple styles at the same time, you can combine commands by placing a plus sign (+) between tags:
- Example Usage:
*bold+red+size-22:Important Section*(Makes the text bold, red, and 22 points large).
4. Disabling Automatic Chord Detection (Square Brackets)
The app's chord engine is highly sensitive. If you do not want a normal word or letter within the lyrics to be accidentally detected as a chord and transposed, you can protect that part by enclosing it in square brackets:
- Example: Transition to section
[A](The letter A here will not be processed as a chord).
